Thank you once again for your incredible newsletters! You are such a huge source of inspiration, encouragement and confirmation to me, not to mention I end up laughing and forwarding to my friends.

You know that State Farm Commercial with the tagline, “I’m there.”…well, “I’m there”-smack dab in the middle of the tough times. Last May, after many major negative life changes, I took a break from my 10 yr teaching career; moved to NYC for culinary school-did not win the scholarship that I was believing God for-which translates into debt…..I had to get a student loan to finish; have used up all of my savings; can’t buy a job in NYC; blah, blah, blah. Although, technically, I chose this as opposed to being laid off, I’m still there. That’s the bad stuff.

The good stuff, or as you put it, ‘what I’m being pushed in to’ is God has been gracious and merciful to me. He has supplied all my needs (NYC living expenses + a mortgage, ins, taxes, utilities back home), given me an opportunity and this time to plan & start my own business. When I think about it….it really blows my mind. I’ve never been without an income-this time has honed and refined my faith like nothing before. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you and please don’t stop writing-I look forward to your words. When the income starts again, I plan to buy stuff from you to start the cycle up again.

Oh, by the way, my business is the combination of both of my careers-education & culinary arts-Lori’s Culinary Co., Cooking School , Catering & Personal Meal Service. It’s going to be a great journey-God gave me His promise when He first gave me the idea:”Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed..” Proverbs 16:3.

God’s Blessings,
Lori
